The US government admits to there being 12.5 million "visible" unemployed, which together with the invisible means 94.5 million Americans are available to work but do not have a job. Total US population is 330 million. But 24% of those are young people not eligible to work. And 13 percent are retired. So the total population of available workers in the United States is 100% - (24% + 13%) = 63% of 330 million people, or 207 million workers. And with 94.5 million workers not working, the true jobless rate in the US right now is 45%, not the 8% the media keeps propagandizing you about."

"....At this point, it appears that Occupy is not being crippled so much by opposition from without, but by paralysis from within. It is well-known that the Occupy Wall Street movement has never been able to articulate or even agree on any set of tangible, political demands. After all, this is one of the issues that psychotic blowhards such as Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity were able to seize upon when attempting to categorize the participants as “dirty hippies” and spoiled children. A movement with no demands will increasingly lend itself to the appearance of being a temper tantrum more than true political resistance. "

If this framing can be carried off, it should be - it would turn the dominating narratives on their heads," according to the Kos article.

In case you missed a few details during the Port Blockade News Blackout, here is a brief recap. In October OASN reported that Scott Olsen, an Iraq veteran and member of Veterans for Peace, was shot at Occupy Oakland.

Mark Karlin, for BUZZFLASH wrote, "Due to past law enforcement abuses, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) has been operating under the monitoring of a federal judge overseeing a consent decree since 2003. "

The first Port blockade at Oakland followed the Olsen shooting, and violence escalated. Later that night, OASN reported "OccupyOakland Protesters Struck Intentionally by Car, Cops Let Driver Go Free." Three days later OASN reported "Second Occupy Oakland Iraq war veteran injured after police clashes."

Shutting down the ports to restore "law and order" was obviously not just "spin". Following his release from the hospital, Scott Olsen personally appealed to Longshoremen to "honor Occupy picket lines." They did.

No critical injuries were reported following the Port Shutdown.

"Coincidentally", the day after the 12/12 Shutdown,OASN reported, "Two Oakland cops reassigned pending probe of beanbag shooting of Occupy photographer"

Yesterday, OASN reported, "Oakland Mayor Announces $100,000 Independent Probe of Police Actions During Occupy Protests"

Armchair quarterbacks are hard at work, on the day after the 12/12 Port shutdown. That is certainly a step in the right direction. Non-violent protest has become more of a two-way street, today.

Armchair quarterbacks are hard at work, on the day after the 12/12 Port shutdown. One change seems to be obvious - there are no reports of protesters critically hospitalized by police. That is certainly a step in the right direction. Non-violent protest has become more of a two-way street, today.

A UK Telegraph article wrote, "Former Marine Scott Olsen, whose injury during clashes between Oakland police and demonstrators in October gave fresh impetus to protests, later led an afternoon march in Oakland.

"Occupy Oakland spokesman Mike King called the blockade a success, saying cargo traffic at the port was limited to just two vessels in anticipation of the demonstration, and that longshoremen and Teamsters were largely absent from work.

"'Nobody crossed the picket line, and most truckers stayed away,' King said, adding that the only cargo loaded onto trucks in the terminal yards was material already taken off ships," according to the Telegraph.

Another obvious trend: the news blackout has definitely been shattered. Thousands of news sources, worldwide, have rediscovered the Occupy Movement. The ominous lack of media coverage has ended. It is no surprise that the paid media spinning of the event as a bad thing is in high gear.

The Guardian's Adam Gabbat wrote, "Occupy protesters were facing growing criticism over Monday's attempt to shut down the ports of America's west coast, with unions condemning the action that left hundreds of its members unable to work.

"Terminals were effectively closed at Longview, Oakland and Portland, but plans to shut down the entire west coast failed after other protests saw relatively small turnouts," according to Gabbat.

Gabbat noted that the shutdown was never supported by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and wrote, "Craig Merrilees, communications director at the ILWU, told the Guardian on Tuesday that in Oakland 'three shifts of workers lost a day's pay, and many other port workers were in that situation'.

"'I'm sure the union president would want to emphasise that the cause of the 99% and the problem of corporate greed in America is a serious one, and efforts to address that are to be saluted and supported," he said.

"'But it shouldn't happen at the expense of respecting the democratic structure and process of the ILWU and any other union,'" according to Gabbat.

No estimate of how much money was lost because of the 12/12 shutdown is available, yet. According to Gavin Aronsin, in an article in Mother Jones, "...Oakland's general strike on November 2 resulted in a port shutdown, costing the city a reported $4 million...."

According to Aronsin, despite lack of official labor support, "... several truckers honked in support of Occupy Oakland, and some ILWU workers strongly supported the port's second shutdown....One, a business agent watching the blockade from a company van who said his name was L.T., told me that protesters 'need to stay your ground. I'm not crossing the picket line.' Responding to ILWU president Robert McEllrath's letter criticizing the shutdown, he said, 'We don't give a damn.'" Aronsin wrote.

Since ignoring the effort was not making the Money Power's latest problems go away, tactics seem to have changed to trying to spin the issue as labor vs. the Occupy Movement. Those tactics will probably change again, as people refuse to fall for that, either.

AP 's Marcus Wohlsen article in BostonGlobe might lead readers to believe that Unions are against the blockade. "The tension between the century-old International Longshore and Warehouse Union and a still-young protest movement has complicated an ambitious effort by Occupiers to build an identity that is bigger than their recently dismantled tent camps," he wrote.

Wohlsen goes on to say, "But under the terms of the ILWU contract, West Coast longshoremen cannot simply walk off the job en masse to support the shutdown, though individual union members can choose to exercise their First Amendment rights and not show up at the hiring hall that day."

The importance of labor and the occupy movement working together was stressed by Scott Johnson, in the Occupied Oakland Tribune. He wrote, ""I initially approached the call for a General Strike on November 2 with the same skepticism, but the success of the event itself won me over."

According to Johnson, "Anybody still confused about this issue should read the interview with ILWU members Clarence Thomas and Leo Robinson.

In that interview, according to Thomas, "Only 7.2 percent of private sector workers have union representation today, the lowest since 1900. Facing a critical moment, the labor movement has been reenergized by the Occupy Wall Street movement," Thomas said.

Clearly the 12/12 shutdown is a high stakes moment in the Movement's history. Individuals should be aware of the Money Power's motivations in downplaying labor support.

In an October poll, a majority of Americans, "Some 59 percent of adults either completely agree or mostly agree with the protesters, while 31 percent mostly disagree or completely disagree; 10 percent of those surveyed didn't know or refused to answer." Bulldozing a few tents will not make Occupy America go away. In fact, the people ordered to do the bulldozing are becoming a real problem for the Money Power.

Chris Faraone wrote, in The Boston Phoenix, "As Occupy camps from coast to coast face evictions — and in many cases have already been pushed out of parks and plazas like so much human trash — it's clear that the institutional response to the movement is escalating dangerously....But as tensions build between Occupiers and Big Brother, what's also true is that individual officers are increasingly concerned about their role in combating Occupy. Even in cities where the overall police response has been barbaric, there's a growing sense that cops who've been charged with breaking camps are unnerved by such orders.

"Earlier this week, Los Angeles authorities avoided a riot by working with protesters, and even thanking them publicly for demonstrating their right to free speech. On a smaller scale, last month in Oregon an officer was seen sobbing in his combat gear while raiding a Portland encampment. In October, Albany police — along with state troopers — refused to arrest protesters despite pressure from the city's mayor and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo," according to Faraone

After visiting Zuccotti Park, Author Naomi Wolfe wrote "...it is hard for cops to be put in positions that dehumanize them too and psychologically traumatizing to be forced to act against their morals. This is a war and they are forced into front lines they did not choose."

According to Wolfe, "Occupy is in a very powerful position if they only begin to understand this. If If you REALLY want to know how the game is played — a game that is being played right now AGAINST you — you would have the OWS reps in every city go to a meeting with police benevolent association with your LOCAL REGISTERED VOTER LISTS in hand and say, “we want to put better pay and retirement for cops and other first responders on the ballot and are willing to get out the vote for this.”

The Occupy movement sprouted up in Evansville about a month ago and has continued to gain momentum. Organizer Don Mottley says tonight the protesters are staging their second all-night sit-in at the park near the Four Freedoms Monument. Their mission, to make a statement about corporate greed, high utility rates and other issues.

But Mottley says police told him they would have to leave the park when it closes or face possible consequences. Evansville Police declined to speak on camera but filled us in on their plan.

First they would issue verbal warnings, second they'd begin writing citations, then they would start arresting any protester who refuses to leave. Mottley says he believes the could be possible because the Evansville movement is smaller than the larger displays in Oakland and New York City."

Waging war was hard: waging peace is harder. We thank him for standing with us.

He was almost executed by a guy with a badge. Maybe the guy with the badge thought he would get away with it, because he thought “he was the Law.” He should not have fallen for that. The Constitution is the Law.

Maybe the guy with the badge thought nobody would catch him. He should not have fallen for that. There are pictures of the guy with the badge, and witnesses that will testify when he faces trial. The world was watching.

Maybe the guy with the badge thought he could say it was “just an accident.” There are pictures, however, of a hand grenade being thrown at the people that were trying to give first aid. Nobody is going to fall for that.

The guy with the badge might think he can say “he was only following orders.” That did not work out well for the Nazi war criminals that came to trial after World War Two. The people who gave the guy with the badge his orders, however, are probably hoping they can get him to take the fall for them.

The people who gave the guy with the badge his orders can’t say they “had to do it” – the police in Baltimore did not fall for that. These protesters in that one glorious moment did what the traditional “liberal” establishment has steadily refused to do—fight back. And it was deeply moving to watch the corporate rats scamper back to their holes on Wall Street. It lent a whole new meaning to the phrase “too big to fail.”

Two days ago, coverage by "reporters" (please don't even let me get started again) seemed to only have "RT" plastered on the video. While it is great to see that Russia is interested in this freedom movement, it would be nice to be able to get news from other sources.

Among our members, we have writers, editors, video and still photographers. We have technical people who can secure out website from attempts to take it down. We are approaching a tipping point, with almost half of people saying they get their news from the internet, because they don't trust "reporters" who deliver only propaganda while calling it "News."

The "Flag" video on youtube is our story. We have the means to get our story out. Our opponents would like to portray us as "communists" or any other label they can create. We must tell our own story, so that instead of being labeled by someone else, we are portrayed truthfully for what we are.

We Occupy Americatag:occupyamerica.ning.com,2011-10-11:6446883:BlogPost:25022011-10-11T21:40:28.000ZTerry Bainhttp://occupyamerica.ning.com/profile/TerryBain

We are the free men and women that occupy America. We are a movement without leaders by design. We occupy Wall Street, and Main street – they are all our streets. We will not continue to occupy other people’s streets.

We are an international nation of free men united in a growing open rebellion against our opponent's new world of disorder . Our ambassadors proclaim our foreign policy with music We rap and mosh, but we are not a mob. We walk like Egyptians. We Rage Against the Machine: each of us, individually, has decided we will not "...do what they tell me."

We have no enemy, only opposition. When they no longer oppose us they will be us. We rebel, peacefully, while our opponent uses violence lawlessly against us, (with forces paid for by our own taxes to uphold the law.) We are not yet in revolt, but we are revolted. We rebel, not against them, but against their policy. It is revolting.

We know who our opponents are paid by, and we know their plan. Historian Caroll Quigley calls them the “Money Power” : a foreign power that has occupied our streets for too long. Their occupation of America is over.

We are defeating their plan and winning without violence, at least on our part. We no longer fear what our opponent will do to us – we are making our opponent fear what we are doing to them.
