By Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers, Truthdig

26 February 12

"....1. Disruptions of the General Assemblies and attempts to divide the group. Individuals would interrupt General Assemblies with emergency items or sidetrack the agenda with their personal needs or issues. When proposals were presented to the General Assembly on principles for the occupation or plans to prevent division, individuals would question the authority of the writers…

"The Cancer in Occupy"

"The presence of Black Bloc anarchists—so named because they dress in black, obscure their faces, move as a unified mass, seek physical confrontations with police and destroy property—is a gift from heaven to the security and surveillance state."

Port Shutdown 12/12: The Day After

Armchair quarterbacks are hard at work, on the day after the 12/12 Port shutdown.  One change seems to be obvious - there are no reports of  protesters critically hospitalized by police. That is certainly a step in the right direction.  Non-violent protest has become more of a two-way street, today.

A UK Telegraph…

Iraq War Vet Scott Olsen to Longshoremen: Please Honor Picket Line

"Please honor our Occupy picket lines. United we are stronger. As you say in your union, “AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL.” The only ones who will tell you otherwise are those that want to continue profiting off your backs. You all work hard at a dangerous job. You deserve to see something out of that.

"I plan on standing tall again on December 12, and I look forward to standing with our longshoremen. PLEASE DO THE LABOR MOVEMENT PROUD LIKE YOU’VE DONE BEFORE AND HONOR…

Port Shutdown: News Blackout Breaking Down

News of the West Coast Port Shutdown is beginning to trickle past the usual blackout into the mainstream media.  A Google News search shows articles about the 12/12 port blockade spiking well above previous levels.

Since ignoring the effort was not making the Money Power's latest problems go away, tactics seem to have changed to trying…

A reply to Cal Winslow on the West Coast Port Shut Down

"I initially approached the call for a General Strike on November 2 with the same skepticism, but the success of the event itself won me over. Academics will debate for years whether the Oakland General Strike was “real” or not but it is clear that the action was the most successful event in the Occupy movement thus far. Only a pedantic nit-picker could be so concerned about whether slapping the “General Strike” terminology onto the action was appropriate at this…

Impact

The Money Power won a few battles last week, and captured a few tents - they still, however, are losing their war against us.  According to  a Think Progress article by Zaid Jilani,"The Republican Governor’s Association met in Florida this week and featured pollster Frank Luntz, who....told attendees that he’s “scared of this anti-Wall Street effort. I’m frightened to death.” The…

Occupy Evansville: Put it on the map

"Occupy Evansville protesters are following the lead of similar movements all over the country by setting up camp. Protesters have built a "tent city" in a Downtown Evansville park tonight despite the chance of criminal consequences.

About 25 people started pitching their tents at around two thirty this afternoon in preparation for an all night sit-in. But if the protesters aren't gone by the time the park closes, police say they could face criminal…
