Occupy Boise Spits in the Face Of Most Idahoans

http://occupyboise.org/archives/1489

I tried to keep a sense of humor about this. I tried to get involved. I went in looking for common ground, they assumed I was "one of them" and spewed insults about "Tea Party" people. I tried dropping LARGE hints, like re-writing a song to be kind and funny rather than divisive. Never did they welcome us as part of the 99%, it was always jabs and insults. I tried just walking away and letting them be, but I can't seem to get off the listserve in spite of repeated requests. Maybe I need to go to the police academy so I can have a turn at pepper spraying them...? Nah, just not my style, I am into nonviolence. But I am weary to the bone of Ron Paul supporters who insist that "everyone" in Occupy is a Marxist and with Occupiers who will not even allow people to say "Ron Paul." If you want a solution to this mess, you need to discuss the next presidential election, and you need to discuss the candidates. And in that discussion, if you are not taking a serious look at Ron Paul, you are cutting off your financial nose to spite your indebted face.

The Occupy Boise movement appears to be entirely without noses at this point. This morning, I found this on their WEBSITE, not in a private communication:

"To the end of political change, it would help us to find and focus on some broad areas that members of the Tea Party or Libertarians might mutually support.  Though we want to be careful with this, it could greatly improve our strength and impact, especially given the conservative political climate that dominates Idaho."

How do you like that? In one sentence, they act like they are getting a clue that they really are NOT the 99% without the Tea Party and Libertarians, and then in the next sentence they insult us. I was very excited to see "Occupy Wall Street" and watch it catch on. When Boise announced they were getting involved, I was THERE. And now I am GONE. If you want to see an example of Move On successfully co-opting an Occupation, come visit Boise. This is not merely my observation, our local "liberal rag" has a left-leaning contributor who sees the same thing.

To those of you who are in the streets in a spirit of solidarity with your fellow humans: I salute you, and I thank you for being out there and doing what you are doing. I hope your message makes it to Idaho soon.
